PTFE better known by its trade name Teflon, has many desirable properties which make it an attractive material for numerous industries. It has good chemical resistance, a low dielectric constant, a low coefficient of friction, making it ideal for various applications. However, its non-stick properties make it challenging to bond to other materials or to itself.
In order to bond standard PTFE to another surface such as stainless steel, a process called "etching" is required. Etched surfaces will discolour to a brown appearance.
Sanghvi Techno Products offers variety of PTFE Products with Sodium Chemical etching. Chemically etched material should be kept wrapped and in the dark as UV can breakdown the etched surface. The chemical etching process only changes the top layer of the material, therefore all other material property remains unchanged.
